Monday Morning Photo - Plaza Mayor, Salamanca

One of the most beautiful squares in Spain the Plaza Mayor, a baroque style plaza, on the north side is the City Hall building. Decorated with stonework medallions between each arch, including depictions of  Carlos I, Alfonso XI, Fernando VI, Cervantes and Santa Teresa. Monday Morning Photo - Balcony View from Baños de la Encina

With the majestic Castillo de Baños de la Encina (also known as the Castillo de Burgalimar)  behind it´s easy to see why it was built here. The vast plains stretch into the horizon. Today we see marching rows of olive trees rather than the enemy approaching.
