Monday Morning Photo - Plaza Mayor, Salamanca

One of the most beautiful squares in Spain the Plaza Mayor, a baroque style plaza, on the north side is the City Hall building. Decorated with stonework medallions between each arch, including depictions of  Carlos I, Alfonso XI, Fernando VI, Cervantes and Santa Teresa. Monday Morning Photo - Mercado de Abastos in Arjonilla


The gorgeously tiled Mercado de Abastos in the pretty town of Arjonilla, famous for its ceramic works. Arjonilla and its big brother Arjona are in Jaén province almost on the border with Córdoba province and worthy of a detour to take in there historical buildings.
