Monday Morning Photo - Palacio de la Merced, Cordoba

Once one of the most important buildings in Córdoba, Palacio de la Merced was founded in XIII century as a  Mercedarian monastery. When the order was dissolved it became an orphanage then in the 1970s a Provincial Government seat. The Baroque portal is in the middle of the enormous frontage, the cloisters and monastery church remain and services are still held there today. Villa Andalucia B&B in Competa, Malaga Province

The first post and our first trip since lock down brings you the lovely getaway stay - Villa Andalucia B&B in the pretty whitewashed town of Competa in Malaga province. Great hospitality and far reaching views, all in all a great escape.

Within a few minutes walk down into town, but away from the hustle and bustle,  peace reigns here. Looking down towards the Mediterranean Sea, about 20 minutes drive away if you fancy a day on the beach, and on the edge of great walking country with the Natural Park of Tejada, Almijara & Alhama. Villa Andalucia makes a great base for coast or country or just staying put .
