Monday Morning Photo - Plaza Mayor, Salamanca

One of the most beautiful squares in Spain the Plaza Mayor, a baroque style plaza, on the north side is the City Hall building. Decorated with stonework medallions between each arch, including depictions of  Carlos I, Alfonso XI, Fernando VI, Cervantes and Santa Teresa. Which costa is where in Spain? Have you ever wondered about the names of the different parts of the Spanish coast? Which Costa is where? Costa this and costa that? But what part of Spain is it on, the north, the Med coast, the Atlantic coast.

While I knew my costas in Andalucia, that knowledge was a bit hazy once rounding the Andalucian coast into Murchia and up along the Mediterranean coast of Valencia and even worse up in the north so I raked out one of the maps from my kids school books and learnt my coasts. Now I have popped them on Spanish Coasts or Costas de España map for you.
