Monday Morning Photo - Palacio de la Merced, Cordoba

Once one of the most important buildings in Córdoba, Palacio de la Merced was founded in XIII century as a  Mercedarian monastery. When the order was dissolved it became an orphanage then in the 1970s a Provincial Government seat. The Baroque portal is in the middle of the enormous frontage, the cloisters and monastery church remain and services are still held there today. DK Eyewitness Travel Spain Guidebook

I´ve just received my review copy of DK Eyewitness Travel - Spain. I´m so glad it came on Saturday because I didn´t put it down all morning. I even used it with my Spanish student in her English speaking lesson, we had great fun sharing where we´ve been and even more so where we want to go from the bright colourful pages of this guidebook.

It´s not a how-to-get-there guide but a great flick through 720 page picture book as well as being packed with lots of information. I love the style and feel, it´s sumptuous and inviting and I want to go everywhere I´ve seen in it. Now!

This is the latest, only just out, revised edition of a book that was first published in the UK in 1996.

It´s fun, informative and will be well dipped into by your truly. Want your own? They are now available from Amazon.
